Kids and Conservation 2011 Poster and Video Contest

kids and conservation

Lights, Camera, Action!

ChairRecently, we added a new twist to our ongoing annual Kids and Conservation contest - a video contest! Our first annual video contest gave students within our service territory, who are 13 years and older, a chance to showcase their energy-saving efforts in a video and win cash prizes.

Our annual Conserve to Preserve Kids and Conservation poster and video contest is just one way to get students thinking about protecting the environment. And we commend the hundreds of students from schools throughout our service territory who participated this year, submitting works of art that truly exemplify what Conserve to Preserve® is all about.

And the Winners Are ...

The three fifth grade students who won the poster contest were awarded a laptop computer while the winning video group entry received $2,500. The respective schools of these contest winners received $1,000 toward an energy conservation or environmental beautification project.

Also, the top three videos were showcased on the Asbury Park Press Web site, where the public voted for their favorite one. The Viewers’ Choice Award winner received $500.

Congratulations Winners!
